A Role Model for HISPA’s Role Models

Princeton, N.J., March 10, 2016 – HISPA is pleased to announce that Rod Colón has joined the organization’s team as Role Model Development Director. Rod brings over 25 years of experience to the position, in which he will focus on the recruitment, retention, and professional development of HISPA volunteers. An accomplished executive coach and professional speaker, he will also support HISPA by consulting with partner organizations and advising employee resource groups on best practices.

As a long-time HISPA supporter, Rod truly exemplifies what it means to lead by example: he has been an active HISPA Role Model for over eight years and for the past four has served as the New Jersey Governor’s Hispanic Fellows HISPA Leadership Series Co-Lead.

HISPA Role Models will benefit from Colón’s unfailing desire to mentor, coach, train and advise in all matters related to career management, personal growth and volunteerism. With Colón, HISPA is launching twice-monthly training webinars that will introduce—or re-introduce—our volunteers to why and how HISPA came to be as well as prepare them to visit classrooms and inspire students as active HISPA Role Models. These webinars are especially recommended for those who have recently registered to become involved with HISPA.

HISPA’s first two training webinars will take place April 15 (“The Time to Inspire our Youth is Now”) and April 29 (“Sharing your Story – The Basics”) from 12 to 1 p.m. HISPA Role Models are invited to register through the hispa.org events calendar. Those interested in participating must have an active login with hispa.org to register. Registrants will receive all access information via email prior to webinar.
