AT&T Celebrates the “Gift” of Latino Stories at HISPA Three Kings Banquet

Employees Volunteer their Time to Inspire Middle School Students

Princeton, NJ, January 13, 2015 – Hispanics Inspiring Students’ Performance and Achievement (HISPA) will recognize volunteers and present awards at its 7th annual Three Kings (the three Wise Men) banquet on January 15 at the Hotel Woodbridge in Metropark, N.J. starting at 6 p.m. The event gathers some 300 corporate, nonprofit, government, education and other leaders. The banquet celebrates the contributions of the 1,500 supporters and volunteers who participate in the HISPA Role Model Program sharing their stories with middle school students and inspiring them to stay in school, graduate and use education as a way to fulfill their dreams. HISPA Leadership Workshop Series connects NJ Governor’s Hispanic Fellows with role models who “inspire us to pursue our dreams”

Gabriela Monje left her home in Peru at age 12 and immigrated to the United States. She remembers struggling to learn English, not doing well in school, and having difficulty making new friends; but in the face of these problems Gabriela’s story is one of inspiration. She now speaks English fluently and is a junior at Rutgers University.

Princeton, NJ, December 20, 2013 – Hispanics Inspiring Students’ Performance and Achievement (HISPA) will honor Educational Testing Service (ETS) Kurt M. Landgraf who will retire on December 31 after 13 years as CEO, AT&T and a Merck employee for their support of educational programs that focus on providing role models to the Latino youth in 2013. HISPA will present these awards at its Sixth Annual Three Kings Banquet on January 9th at the Hilton Woodbridge in Iselin, NJ.
