(www.spanisheducationalresources.com), HISPA’s President, Dr. Ivonne Diaz-Claisse, Alejandro Figueiras, (HISPA EVP Business Development) and Tere Cintron (HISPA EVP Strategic Planning) attended the USHCC 28th Convention. They met the President and CEO of the USHCC Foundation, Frank Lopez and the USHCC Chairman, David Lizarrraga. They had the opportunity to learn about various mentorship and educational initiatives for Latinos and other minorities across the US, for examples: The Role Model Program (www.therolemodelprogram.org) and Microsoft Outreach Program for girls, DigiGirlz, (www.microsoft.com/digigirlz). In addition, Dr. Diaz-Claisse established contact with Ivette Zurita, Senior Account Executive for Edelman and President of HPRA, Hispanic Public Relations Associaton (www.hpra-usa.org), a Latino Professional Organization, and discussed HPRA interest in HISPA’s initiatives.

The HISPA team enjoyed interactions with many old friends such as Marie Long, AT&T, Jose Pineiro, Microsoft, Luis Diaz, USHAA, Jose Marquez, LISTA, Martin Ruiz, QuePasa, and Cid Wilson, DANR. HISPA also established contact with Victor Capellan, DANR President and NY school Principal, Dennis King, Executive Director Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Silicon Valley, Carlos Sandoval, VP Recruiting Diversity Strategist for Wachovia, Gerardo Estevane Marketing Director for Teleperformance among many others!
