Princeton, N.J., Jan. 12, 2015 – Non-profit organization HISPA (Hispanics Inspiring Students’ Performance and Achievement) will recognize volunteers, sponsors and collaborators at its Three Kings Banquet on January 14, 2016 at Pines Manor in Edison, NJ. The event will gather some 300 leaders from the public and private sectors to celebrate the contributions of the over 2,000 Latino role models who participate in HISPA’s educational programs, which aim to inspire Latino youth to pursue education to fulfill their dreams.

PSEG Foundation, Adelante and HISPA Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month
Newark, NJ, October 20, 2015 – The PSEG Foundation and PSEG’s Hispanic/Latino Employee Business Resource Group Adelante will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by hosting the HISPA Role Model Program Kick-Off and Recruiting Event on Tuesday, October 20 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at PSEG’s Corporate Headquarters in Newark, N.J. The event, themed “Honoring Our Stories, Building America’s Future,” will bring together Latino professionals dedicated to inspiring our youth, including leaders from HISPA and Adelante as well as those from academia, government, corporate and non-profit sectors. CoolSpeak will present HISPA’s Role Model training program “Know Your Role, Model the Change” prior to the kick-off event.

Celebrating Educational Achievement during Hispanic Heritage Month
Oct. 7, 2015 – In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, members of the Columbia University chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and Hispanics Inspiring Students’ Performance and Achievement (HISPA) will host a day-long Youth Conference at Columbia University with the theme “Take Action, Achieve Your Dreams.” Columbia SHPE members and HISPA Role Models including members of the ESPN Latino / Hispanic Employee Resource Group (ERG) Goal!, will serve as role models, sharing their educational and professional journeys with middle and high school students while participating in hands-on workshops. Sept. 15 – On the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month, New Jersey-based nonprofit HISPA (Hispanics Inspiring Students’ Performance and Achievement) celebrates the honor of being named a “Bright Spot in Hispanic Education” by the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics (Initiative). This recognition acknowledges the thousands of stories HISPA Role Models have shared with Hispanic/Latino students to inspire them to pursue higher education. As a “Bright Spot” organization, HISPA will be part of a national online catalog of over 230 programs that invest in key education priorities for Hispanics.

Achieve your Dreams” at Princeton University on Friday, June 5 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This is the 15th conference and the 7th at Princeton University by Hispanics Inspiring Students’ Performance and Achievement (HISPA), a nonprofit that connects Hispanic role models and middle school students to empower youth to work hard, graduate high school, and go on to higher education. The conference is co-sponsored by the Office of Human Resources, Diversity and Inclusion at Princeton University. Students will come from Elizabeth, Hackensack, New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, and Princeton. Read more
