Retired, Senior Vice President, Merck & Co., Inc. 

Tony spent over 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry before retiring in 2018.  He started his career with The Upjohn Company (now Pfizer), and worked with several companies including Pharmacia, Schering Plough, and Merck.  Tony’s assignments ranged from managing businesses in Latin America, leading Merck’s second largest business in Japan for 6 years, as well as leading one of Merck’s largest global pharmaceutical businesses.  Before his retirement, Tony was responsible for the leading the digital transformation in Merck’s global human health division.  Tony was born in Cuba, and has lived in Venezuela, Guatemala, and Japan.  Tony is fluent in English and Spanish, and has working knowledge of Japanese.  Tony currently resides in Austin, Texas.
