José Piazza

Vice President of Finance, Consumer and Mass Business, Verizon

Jose Piazza is currently the Vice President of Finance for the Consumer and Mass Business group at Verizon.  He leads a team of finance professionals, responsible for providing all of the financial support for the marketing, sales and operations groups of CMB.
Prior to this assignment, Jose was the Vice President for Finance Transformation at Verizon, responsible for leading strategic initiatives to evolve VZ finance towards a world-class organization.
Jose is a finance executive with extensive experience in strategic planning and forecasting, reporting and analysis, and developing and implementing planning processes and systems and driving key initiatives. He also has extensive experience in business venture evaluations and M&A activities with telecommunications and internet service provider companies, both domestic and international.
Jose is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Management Accountant and holds an MBA in Finance/Accounting from the University of Rochester (NY) and a BSBA in Accounting from Washington University in St. Louis (MO).
He is actively involved with non-profit organizations having served on the boards of the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) in Boston and New Jersey, being a founding board member of the New Jersey Chapter; former board member and Executive VP of Puerto Ricans in Management and Executive Roles (PRIMER); and founding board member and advisor of the NSHMBA New Jersey Chapter.  He has also served on the board of the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) of New Jersey and is currently on the board of HISPA and Charter Trustee for Rutgers University and a member of the Audit and Nomination committees of the University’s Board of Governors.
