Board Director, HISPA
Mildred Medina, has been a HISPA member since 1990 and a board member since 2002. In her current position as Finance Director, Mildred has fiduciary responsibility for HISPA; manages annual budget and prepares and reviews monthly financial statements. She has worked actively at the local and national level on Fundraising, Hispanic Heritage Month, special events and mentoring of students via HISPA functions.
Mildred currently works at Merck where she is responsible for managing a database of approximately 60K suppliers for the North American Shared Business Services center, which includes US, Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and Puerto Rico. She also leads the Procure-to-Pay team in Puerto Rico. Before joining Merck she worked at AT&T where she held various positions in Finance, Marketing and Operations.
Mildred recently accepted a board position with the Merck Hispanic Organization (MHO) as the Community Affairs Manager. In this role she actively looks for opportunities to have MHO participate in community outreach programs and/or initiatives.
Mildred has a Bachelor’s Degree in Management/Accounting from Kean University and a Masters in Business Administration in Economics/Finance with a concentration in International Business from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
She was born and lives in New Jersey and in her spare time she enjoys traveling, dancing, skiing and sewing.
