Steven Steven Estrada has been a leader of HISPA since 1990. In his current Board position as Director, Steven works to leverage his connections and proposal management training to gain sponsorships from like-minded organizations and solicit grants. As a former President of HISPA, Steven has vast experience in developing HISPA’s strategic business plan and long-term strategy. Steven works Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) as a Sr. Principal Leader – Business Development and is a member of the CSC Hispanic Network – CSC’s Hispanic/Latino Employee Resource Group, which ensures linkages to CSC’s Hispanic/Latino employee base and its senior leadership.
Steven was born in Lordsburg, New Mexico. As the son of a US Army intelligence officer, Steven and his family moved across the U.S. (Fort Bragg, NC; Fort McPherson, GA; Fort Holabird, MD; Fort Huachuca, AZ; and Fort Bliss, TX) and the Panama Canal Zone. His formative years were spent in El Paso, Texas and Steven graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a B.A. in History.
Steven moved to the Washington, DC area and worked in the Pentagon and Old Town Alexandria for the Federal government (Office of the Secretary of Defense – Assistant Secretary of Defense). He began his AT&T career working in Silver Spring, Maryland and Washington, DC where he has held various positions including Sales Support Manager, Proposal Manager and Offer Development & Negotiations Manager. After a two-year hiatus at AT&T Wireless, he returned to AT&T Government Solutions as an Associate Director – Proposal Operations and left AT&T after 20+ years in 2011.
Steven has been in HISPA since 1990 as one of the founding members of the Washington, DC chapter (HISPA of the Nation’s Capital) and has served as the DC President, DC Vice President, National Vice President, Communications Director, New Horizons newsletter editor, and National President.
Steven has won numerous AT&T and HISPA awards including five Qwest for the Best awards, Circle of Excellence Award, Center of Excellence Award, four HISPA Community Service Awards, AT&T’s Chairman’s Diversity Award and Leaders Council.
As a long-time supporter of HISPA Steven is passionately interested in the direction the organization takes and how it impacts the community as well as how it is perceived by its members and its sponsor companies.
